Manufacturer: Harold Landsell.

 

Description: Relief carved wood block with gilded edges. Made by masster carpenter Harold Landsell (died 2008) who made many pieces for Westminster Abbey including a Bishop's chair, a lecturn, oak candlesticks etc. The snail was his trademark and this purportedly was a test piece.

 

Design: Snail in bas relief within a gold painted border with scalloped corners.

 

Dimensions: 7 1/8" x 4 1/4" x 1 1/4" (180 mm x 120 mm x 30 mm)

 

Condition: Good (see photos).
