Description: Early Minton tile with heraldic and ecclesiatical elements and with maker's marks and twenty-four stabbed holes to the verso. 

 

Design: Array of floral elements with four black birds set in circles. Attributed to A. W. N. Pugin.

 

Colours: Terracotta red, black and buff.

 

Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 1" (148 mm x 148 mm x 25 mm)

 

Condition: Nibbles and some rubbing of the glaze and surface marks (see photos).
