Type: Glazed, white clay, 8-inch pressed dust edge or border tile.
Description: Block printed and glazed wall tile decorated with a repeating pattern in ecclesiastical style and with maker's marks and registration lozenge with marks for December 31st 1869 to the rear.
Design: A row of stylized flower stems, hand-coloured in overglaze, on a black ground between borders of white florets. Attributed to A.W.N. Pugin.
Colours: Buff, brown, green, white and black.
Dimensions: 8" x 8" x 1/2" (224 mm x 224 mm x 10 mm)
Condition: Good with nibbles and some rubbing to hand-painted overglaze (see photos).
