Type: Inlaid plastic clay tile.

 

Description: Inlaid floor, wall or hearth tile of sandwich construction with makers marks and sixteen stabbed holes to the rear.

 

Design: British Museum attribution to John Pollard Seddon. A diagonally-placed cross pierced with trefoils and set wtihin an ornamental circle with three dots between each segment.

 

Colours: Black and buff.

 

Dimensions: 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" x 1/2" (104 mm x 104 mm x 13 mm)

 

Condition: One corner is chipped also other chips, nibbles and surface marks (see photos).
