Type: Glazed, plastic clay floor tile of sandwich construction.

 

Description: Hearth or floor tile in neo-medieval, gothic revival style and with 21 stabbed holes, maker's marks and registration mark (and a number 32) to the rear. From the Hans van Lemmen Collection.

 

Design: Repeating pattern of a geometric array of floral elements between dotted bands (see https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O278123/tile/).

 

Colours: Black, white and gold.

 

Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 1" (150 mm x 150 mm x 25 mm)

 

Condition:  Good overall but with chips and nibbles (see photos).
