Type: Encaustic plastic clay floor tile.

 

Description: Early tile with heraldic and ecclesiastical elements and with maker's marks and random stabbed holes to the verso.

 

Design: Central 6-pointed flower within a hexafoil with trefoil buds inside a circle with heraldic birds at the corners. 

 

Colours: Terracotta red and buff.

 

Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 7/8" (147 mm x 147 mm x 23 mm)

 

Condition: Good overall with chip to one edge and nibbles (see photos).
