Type: Encaustic plastic clay floor tile.

 

Description: Early Minton tile with heraldic and ecclesiatical elements and with maker's marks and twenty-five stabbed holes to the verso. From the Hans van Lemmen collection.

 

Design: Central 6-pointed flower within a hexafoil with trefoil buds inside a circle with heraldic birds at the corners. 

 

Colours: Terracotta red and buff.

 

Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 7/8" (147 mm x 147 mm x 22 mm)

 

Condition: Surface marks and nibbles (see photos).
