Type: Inlaid encaustic clay floor tile of sandwich construction.
 
Description: Decorated floor tile from a panel of four in neo-medieval style with maker's marks, the number 48 and 19 stabbed holes to the rear. From the Hans van Lemmen Collection.
 
Design: From a four tile panel forming a foliate cross in an octofoil with trefoil buds within a circle of florets and with foliate spandrels.
 
Colours: Terracotta red and buff.
 
Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 1" (150 mm x 150 mm x 25 mm)
 
Condition:  Chips, nibbles and surface pitting, also a small crack  (see photos).
