Type: Hand-painted and richly glazed plastic clay wall or hearth tile.
 
Description: Despite claims that these are Iznik (British Museum) or from Qajar, Iran (Christie's) it is now believed that these are an Armenian design imported into England by Marten van Stratten of Oxford Street.
 
Design: A central ornate blue vase holding a bouquet of pink and blue flowers, surrounded by branching leafy stems, tulips, and rosettes.
 
Colours: Blues, greens, yellow, pink and white.
 
Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 1/2" (153 mm x 153 mm x 14 mm)
 
Condition: Good with tiny nibbles and craquelure (see photos).
