Type: Block-printed and salt-glazed terracotta clay tiles.

 

Description: Two hearth or wall tiles in neo-medieval, heraldic style - from a panel of four -  with 16 stabbed holes to the rear. From the Hans van Lemmen Collection.

 

Design: Two quarters of a Tudor Rose within a circle of floorets and with leaf spandrels/corners.

 

Colours: Terracotta red and buff.

 

Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 1/2" (151 mm x 151 mm x 12 mm)

 

Condition: Some loss of surface glaze possibly due to wear or overcleaning otherwise good overall (see photos).
