Type: Inlaid plastic clay tiles.
Description: Nine inlaid encaustic floor tiles in neo-medieval style with makers marks and 25 stabbed holes to the rear.
Design: Central cardinal foliate cross set in a quatrefoil bordered with a band of florets, all within sixteen leaf foils set in a circle and with foliate spandrels, in a rectangular border of dotted roads. Design by A.W.N. Pugin, see British Museum object number 1980,0307.8
Colours: Blue, red and buff.
Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 1" (152 mm x 152 mm x 25 mm)
Condition: Fair overall but with chips and nibbles also edge and surface damage. (see photos).
